Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child, and ALG is partnering with Milspo Momtok to launch a toy drive supporting military and Veteran families across the community.

The drive is collecting toys, games, and comfort items for kids of all ages. Everything donated goes directly to military-connected families. The goal is to give children something positive during a lifestyle that often includes frequent moves, deployments, and time away from parents. Even small items can bring a sense of comfort and normalcy during uncertain times.

Milspo Momtok, a nonprofit focused on supporting military spouses, has built its community through honest conversations and local connections. The group creates spaces where spouses can find support, share experiences, and grow. This toy drive extends that same sense of connection to military children, making sure they feel included and supported.

“As a military mom, we know how much those little things matter,” said Neavay Flores, Founding Director of Milspo Momtok. “A new toy can bring comfort, joy, and a reminder that our community sees them and the sacrifices they make.”

The partnership with ALG is helping the effort reach more families. Known for bringing Veterans together through gaming and community events, ALG is helping spread awareness and connect the drive with supporters across the country. The collaboration allows both groups to expand their reach and make a larger impact during the month.

“This is about showing up for families in a real way,” Flores added. “When kids feel supported, it makes a difference not just in the moment, but in how they carry through these experiences.”

For many families, military life comes with constant change and added stress. This drive gives people a simple way to give back and show support during a month dedicated to military children, while also recognizing the role families play behind the scenes.

Donations can be made through Milspo Momtok’s Amazon wishlist, with items shipped directly to the drive. The link is also available on Milspo Momtok’s website and across its social media pages.

Whether someone donates, shares the link, or helps spread the word, it all makes a difference and helps reach more families in need.

As the drive continues through April, the focus is on making sure military children feel seen, supported, and remembered by the community around them.
