Delta Force is officially arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on August 19. After building momentum on PC and mobile earlier this year, the modern reboot of the classic military shooter is finally coming to consoles. Developed by Team Jade and published by TiMi Studio Group, this free-to-play title combines tactical combat, large-scale warfare, and a cinematic campaign that brings the franchise back into the spotlight.
One of the most talked-about features coming to console is the Black Hawk Down campaign. Inspired by the 2001 film and classic Delta Force missions, the campaign will be available as free downloadable content on launch day. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the story-driven experience blends realism and action, giving players a grounded military narrative that stands apart from most modern shooters.
The console launch also coincides with the arrival of the Season Break update. This new season introduces two maps that expand the game’s environments and playstyles. Tide Prison is a close-quarters extraction map set on a remote island prison, filled with underwater tunnels, security puzzles, and AI guards. Cyclone takes players to a sprawling tropical zone with heavy weather effects, swimming mechanics, and vehicle combat, supporting high-stakes battles by land, sea, and air.
Players will also gain access to a new Operator named Tempest. Known for its speed and disruption, Tempest offers fast movement and a high-powered drill gadget, ideal for controlling confined spaces. The update includes new gear as well, from a compound bow and wire-guided missiles to jet skis and battlefield drones. These additions deepen strategic options and encourage creative squad play across multiple game modes.
A crossover event with Arknights launches alongside the new season. This special collaboration adds themed operator skins, lore-inspired challenges, and unique cosmetics for players to collect. It’s a rare fusion of military realism and stylized sci-fi, designed to attract players from diverse gaming communities.
Console users will benefit from crossplay with PC and mobile, with the option to queue in console-only lobbies. Full cross-progression is supported, letting players carry their progress across platforms. Controller support has been optimized for console, and a recent technical test in July helped smooth out performance and controls ahead of launch.
With its hybrid approach to large-scale multiplayer, tactical extraction, and cinematic storytelling, Delta Force is competing with other heavyweights in the genre. The franchise’s return arrives with not just nostalgia but an ambitious set of systems designed for long-term growth.
Players can download Delta Force for free starting August 19. With new maps, a gripping campaign, and seasonal content launching on the same day, console players have plenty to look forward to as the battle heats up.
