Embark Studios has confirmed it is working on two new games that have not yet been announced, following the strong performance and profitability of its extraction shooter ARC Raiders.
The studio’s chief executive, Patrick Söderlund, said the financial results from ARC Raiders have given the company stability and a foundation it did not have before, allowing it to expand its team, hire new talent, and support ongoing projects.
Since its launch on October 30, 2025, ARC Raiders has become one of the more successful multiplayer shooters of the past year. Across all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, the game has sold more than 12 million copies and has maintained high levels of player engagement. Söderlund said the revenue from these sales has given Embark long-term security and the ability to grow its operations rather than cut back, a relative rarity in today’s games industry.
Speaking to IGN, Söderlund explained that the profits have made it possible to support both ARC Raiders and Embark’s earlier hit The Finals while continuing to invest in new projects. He confirmed that two additional games are in development, though he did not share details about their genres, platforms, or release windows. He described the titles as long-term projects that the team hopes to complete when the time is right.
The success of ARC Raiders stands out in contrast to the wider industry, where many developers have faced layoffs, shrinking budgets, and project cancellations. Söderlund acknowledged that financial stability has been difficult to achieve in recent years but said the studio’s current position has allowed it to focus on quality, staff retention, and sustainable growth.
Player activity has remained strong months after launch, helping the game stay near the top of digital sales charts into early 2026. Industry tracking shows that ARC Raiders continues to attract both new and returning players, reinforcing its position as one of Embark’s most important releases to date.
Embark has continued to support the game through regular updates, balance adjustments, and new content. At the same time, the studio has maintained development on The Finals, ensuring both titles receive attention as live-service projects. The studio is focused on building lasting player communities across its games.
While details about the two new projects remain limited, Söderlund’s comments suggest the studio is approaching development carefully. With ARC Raiders continuing to perform well, Embark appears positioned to maintain momentum as it balances current releases with future ambitions.
