Every month, Prime members can download and keep a curated set of games at no extra cost through Prime Gaming. These games are available for a limited time, and once claimed, they are yours to keep, even after your Prime membership expires. July 2025 delivered a varied lineup of free PC games across multiple genres, and a few of them are still up for grabs in early August.

Free Games in July

In July, Prime Gaming featured several indie favorites, strategic space simulations, open-world chaos, and narrative-driven experiences. One of the most talked-about titles was TOEM, an award-winning indie game that blends photography with peaceful exploration. The game uses a hand-drawn, black-and-white art style and lets players discover charming details by snapping pictures to solve small puzzles. It’s a relaxing alternative to more intense gameplay styles.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is Endless Space 2 – Definitive Edition, which lets players guide a galactic civilization through diplomacy, research, trade, and war. This turn-based strategy game is layered with decision-making that affects every part of your empire and can keep you playing for hours.

Fans of creativity and physics puzzles may have already claimed Besiege. This sandbox-style game lets you design medieval contraptions and test their limits against obstacle-filled environments. If your style leans more toward open-world absurdity, Saints Row II and Saints Row IV: Re-Elected brought wild mission design, over-the-top weapons, and the ability to wreak havoc in fictional cities with total freedom.

Other Titles Offered

For horror fans, Amnesia: The Dark Descent added a darker tone to the July mix. Known for its eerie atmosphere and psychological tension, this game helped define the modern survival horror genre. Another unique experience came from Liberte, a card-based roguelite set during the French Revolution. It combines real-time action with strategic deck-building and can be played solo or co-op. Indie exploration game The Abandoned Planet offered pixel-art visuals and story-driven progression, catering to those who enjoy slow-paced, thoughtful playthroughs.

Larger titles like Marvel’s Midnight Suns, a turn-based tactics game that brings together superheroes like Blade, Iron Man, and Ghost Rider, are available. Another was Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, a retro PC classic from the late ’90s that mixes blaster action with lightsaber duels and force powers.

While the game listing was correct, these were given out in July 2025 not August
