Marvel is set to release a wave of video games that explore new sides of its universe. From a retro-style brawler packed with classic heroes to darker, story-driven adventures featuring Wolverine and Blade. Each title brings its own style and focus. These games are not just spin-offs from the comics or movies—they are built to stand on their own with original stories, bold graphics, and gameplay tailored to each character.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
One of the most anticipated releases is Marvel Cosmic Invasion, a retro-inspired beat-em-up from Tribute Games and Dotemu. Set to launch in 2025, the game allows players to choose from a roster of 15 Marvel heroes, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, and Nova. Featuring pixel art visuals and local or online multiplayer, the game will include a “Cosmic Swap” mechanic that lets players change characters on the fly. This title is being developed in the same spirit as TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, blending old-school action with a modern twist. Fans can learn more at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 24, where the developers will preview the game and share behind-the-scenes insights.
Wolverine
Insomniac Games is currently developing Marvel’s Wolverine for the PlayStation 5. This single-player game promises a darker, more mature tone with brutal combat and deep storytelling. Though details are limited, it will likely build on Insomniac’s strong reputation following the success of its Spider-Man series.

It is expected to be a third-person action-adventure with a noir atmosphere, though a release date is still a few years away.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
Skydance New Media is developing this game and will feature Captain America and Black Panther during World War II. Set in Paris, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra focuses on both heroes’ perspectives in a narrative-driven action experience. A 2026 release is currently projected.
Iron Man
