The wait is nearly over. Marvel Rivals Season 2 officially launches on April 11, and it’s packed with new content, updates, and gameplay features. At the center of this season is the introduction of Emma Frost as a new playable hero, alongside a new map, Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, and a revamped competitive experience.

Emma Frost Joins the Fight

Season 2 adds the game’s 38th hero and 10th Vanguard: Emma Frost. Known as the White Queen, she arrives with a hybrid kit that blends psychic powers and brute strength. Her toolkit includes beams, barriers, and her signature Diamond Form for front-line combat. Emma is expected to become a top pick due to her versatile gameplay and striking appearance.

One of the most anticipated cosmetics this season is the Emma Frost Golden Diamond skin. The skin, themed after the Hellfire Gala event, dresses Frost in a white outfit with shimmering gold accents. It’s an original design exclusive to the game and not based on comic material. Players can earn the skin for free by reaching Gold III rank in competitive play before the season ends. Higher-ranked players, Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and Top 500, will also receive Crests of Honor.

New Map: Hellfire Gala – Krakoa

Season 2’s featured map, Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, brings players to the heart of mutant territory. Designed as a Domination-style map, it includes three control zones across a best-of-three format. With the introduction of this map, NetEase is also rolling out a new map rotation system that will affect ranked and tournament play.

Twitch Drops Return With Namor Skins

From April 11 to April 30, fans can earn Twitch Drops by watching participating Marvel Rivals streams. Rewards include sprays, nameplates, emotes, and a full Namor costume in a vaporwave-style blue and purple color scheme. To claim these items, players must connect their Marvel Rivals and Twitch accounts, and then watch streams with drops enabled.

Flower of Krakoa Battle Pass and Cerebro Event

The Season 2 battle pass, Flower of Krakoa, runs until June 11 and costs 990 Lattice (or 2,100 for the upgraded version). It includes 10 unlockable costumes and additional Chrono Tokens. The launch also introduces the Cerebro Database event with challenges and free rewards like the Mantis Flora Maiden skin.

Ranked and Competitive Overhaul

Season 2 resets competitive ranks by nine divisions, adjusts the minimum level requirement to enter ranked (now Level 15), and brings in new reward systems. Performance now has a greater influence on score changes per match. Pick/ban phases now start at Gold III instead of Diamond.

Tournament and Faction System Updates

The revamped Marvel Rivals Championship includes updated regional servers (AMERICAS, EMEA, and PACIFIC) and dynamic nameplates for top players. New faction features also enhance group play, allowing players to report content and represent their squads better.

Gameplay Improvements and Gifting Feature

Quality-of-life enhancements include real-time voice chat improvements, better mission rewards, and new leaderboards. A new gifting system lets players send up to five items a day to friends, as long as they meet level and ownership requirements.
