Resolution Games has officially announced its latest collaboration with Wizards of the Coast, previously known as Project Jade. The new title, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, is set to bring a fresh take on social strategy gaming, seamlessly blending the tactical elements of Demeo with the legendary lore and gameplay of Dungeons & Dragons, D&D.
A Fusion of Two Iconic Worlds
Built using the Demeo system, Battlemarked promises an immersive, cooperative roleplaying experience. Players will have to strategize, use magic, and harness their character’s unique skills to succeed. The game will be designed for multiple platforms, including PC, consoles, and XR devices.
According to Resolution Games’ CEO, Tommy Palm, Demeo and Demeo Battles quickly gained popularity as a game-night alternative for Dungeon Masters looking for a casual yet engaging way to enjoy D&D outside of campaigns. With Battlemarked, the experience expands even further, incorporating D&D’s renowned classes, actions, and lore for a brand-new adventure tailored specifically for fans of the franchise.
A New Approach to Dungeons & Dragons Gameplay
Unlike traditional Dungeons & Dragons, Battlemarked eliminates the need for a Dungeon Master, allowing all players to be equally engaged in the tactical decision-making process. The game will launch with cross-platform cooperative play, supporting up to four players. At release, it will include two story-driven campaigns, with additional adventures planned for post-launch updates.
Eugene Evans, Wizards of the Coast’s Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy & Licensing, explained that Battlemarked brings a new twist to D&D gameplay. Built on the Demeo system, the game emphasizes quick, turn-based battles and an intuitive playstyle, making it accessible and engaging.
Expanding the D&D Universe
Hasbro is bringing its popular franchises into digital gaming by collaborating with top developers to deliver new and exciting experiences for players. Battlemarked isn’t the only D&D-related game currently in development. Wizards of the Coast has also announced Project Baxter, a cooperative game being developed with Starbreeze, and a D&D-inspired survival life-sim in partnership with Gameloft.
What to Expect from Battlemarked
The recently released announcement trailer provides a glimpse into Battlemarked’s world, although gameplay footage has yet to be shown. Fans can anticipate an engaging tactical RPG that allows players to experience D&D-inspired battles without a Dungeon Master. The game will support cross-platform cooperative play, bringing together players on PC, consoles, and XR devices. It will feature authentic D&D elements, such as classic character classes, spells, and immersive world-building. Additionally, new campaigns and adventures will be introduced after launch to expand the game’s content over time.
While an official release date has not been confirmed, Battlemarked is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the D&D gaming lineup. Players eager for updates can follow the official Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked website or sign up for the newsletter to stay informed.
