Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today the release of a limited-edition PlayStation 5 collection in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation console. The collection, unveiled by Hideaki Nishino, CEO of Sony’s Platform Business Group, incorporates design elements inspired by the original PlayStation console launched on December 3, 1994.

The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection will feature the familiar gray color scheme of the first PlayStation and will be available in limited quantities. The collection includes several products, with the centerpiece being the PlayStation 5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle. This bundle will include a PS5 Pro console with a 2TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7 support (in select territories), and a variety of themed accessories, such as DualSense wireless controllers and a vertical stand. Additional items include cable ties shaped like PlayStation symbols, a limited edition poster, and a special PlayStation paperclip.

Other offerings in the collection include a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle, the PlayStation Portal Remote Player, and limited-edition DualSense controllers. The collection is set to launch on November 21, with pre-orders beginning September 26 through PlayStation’s website in select regions. In areas where direct.playstation.com is unavailable, pre-orders will be open through participating retailers.

Sony plans to release only 12,300 units of the PlayStation 5 Pro Limited Edition Bundle, with each unit featuring an etched number representing the month and day of the original PlayStation’s launch.

This anniversary collection marks 30 years of technological advancements and gaming innovation, reflecting Sony’s continued evolution from the early days of the PlayStation brand.
