Harry Potter x Fortnite

Fortnite is welcoming the world of Harry Potter as part of its Winterfest celebrations, starting December 18, by giving players a chance to bring Hogwarts house pride into the battle royale. Epic Games and Warner Bros announced a crossover that connects Fortnite, Rocket League, and the Epic Games Store during the holiday season. Promotional images shared by Epic show Hogwarts-inspired robes and accessories, allowing players to represent Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin while dropping into matches.

The crossover continues Fortnite’s tradition of blending pop culture franchises into its evolving universe. Winterfest has often been a time for themed cosmetics and limited-time surprises. The addition of Harry Potter adds a magical touch to this year’s lineup. Wizarding World items are expected to rotate through the Fortnite item shop throughout the event.

Harry Potter Cosmetics Teased at The Game Awards

The first official tease for the Harry Potter content appeared during The Game Awards, where Epic confirmed that multiple Wizarding World outfits and accessories would arrive later in December. Since then, anticipation has grown as fans speculate about which looks and items will be included. Early reactions online show a mix of excitement and curiosity, especially about how the iconic Hogwarts robes will look in Fortnite.

Epic has not shared a full breakdown of the cosmetics, but the crossover aligns with Fortnite’s recent collaborations, which often roll out in phases tied to major events. Winterfest is a fitting backdrop for these releases, with frequent shop updates and seasonal content keeping players engaged.

Hogwarts Legacy Free on Epic Games Store

Alongside the Fortnite crossover, Epic Games Store launched a major holiday promotion by making Hogwarts Legacy free to claim for a limited time. PC players can add the open-world role-playing game to their libraries until December 18 at 11 a.m. Eastern time and keep it permanently. The announcement surfaced during The Game Awards week and quickly gained attention across the gaming community.

The increased interest led to heavy traffic on the Epic Games Store, with some users reporting brief difficulty accessing the free listing. Even so, the promotion has prompted many players to jump into the game and explore Hogwarts, attend classes, and discover secrets throughout the Wizarding World.

Cross Game Rewards Tie the Events Together

Epic also connected the two experiences through a shared reward. Players who log at least two hours in Hogwarts Legacy during the free period, or who already have that playtime recorded, will unlock a Chocolate Frog back bling in Fortnite. The reward encourages players to spend time in both titles while adding a lighthearted collectible to Fortnite inventories.

Together, the Fortnite crossover and Epic Games Store giveaway create a busy holiday stretch for Wizarding World fans. Whether jumping into Fortnite’s Winterfest or exploring Hogwarts on PC, players have multiple ways to take part in the celebration.
