Skateboarding fans are in for a treat this summer. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is officially dropping on July 11, and it’s looking like a strong follow-up to the well-received remaster of the first two games. This time, developers have brought back everything players loved about the original games, while giving the graphics and gameplay a modern-day refresh.

The new release brings back every level from the classic THPS 3 and 4 titles, now upgraded with crisp 4K visuals, better textures, and smoother animations. Familiar spots like Foundry, Airport, and Los Angeles have all returned, but the team didn’t stop there. There’s a brand-new level called Waterpark, a dried-out desert attraction designed specifically for pulling off huge vert tricks and lengthy combos.

The gameplay remains true to the originals, featuring responsive controls and the same satisfying trick system that made the series iconic. Fans who want more from the game after finishing the main levels can dive into New Game+, which opens up new challenges and keeps things interesting. Customization also gets a boost, with improved Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park modes that let players design everything from their deck to the layout of their dream skate park.

The skater lineup mixes legends and new faces. Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, and other old-school favorites are back, joined by current pros like Rayssa Leal, Jamie Foy, and Chloe Covell. One big surprise for longtime fans is the return of Bam Margera as an unlockable character. After being left out of recent titles, his inclusion was pushed for by Tony Hawk himself, and it’s already got people talking.

Multiplayer has been expanded, too. THPS 3 + 4 supports cross-platform online play for up to eight players. Whether you’re skating with friends on the same console or across different systems, you’ll be able to grind rails and string together tricks. There’s also a local split-screen option, which is great for those who want a little couch competition.

Pre-orders are open, and players who reserve the game early get access to a demo version of the Foundry level sometime in June. On top of that, different editions of the game come with extras like exclusive characters, bonus music, and even a limited-edition skateboard deck autographed by Tony Hawk.

Looking ahead, Tony Hawk has hinted at wanting to revive the Underground series, depending on how well this release does. If this remaster hits the same mark as THPS 1 + 2, fans could be in for even more soon. For now, THPS 3 + 4 is shaping up to be the perfect way to relive the glory days, or discover them for the first time.
