Fortnite players are heading into the Forgotten Realms as Wizards of the Coast launches a new Dungeons and Dragons collaboration inside Fortnite Creative. Developed with community creators Chartis and Teravision Games, the project introduces five D&D-inspired islands now available worldwide. The islands officially went live on January 20 and can be accessed through Fortnite’s Discover menu using island codes.

Rather than adding Dungeons and Dragons content to Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode, the collaboration focuses on creator-built experiences made with Unreal Editor for Fortnite. Each island is designed to capture classic D&D elements such as dungeon exploration, boss encounters, treasure hunting, and cooperative play while still fitting Fortnite’s fast-paced gameplay. Wizards of the Coast has described the project as part of a launch and learn approach to see how D&D worlds perform on new interactive platforms.

The first island, DnD Boxfights (Island Code 1190-4691-0255), centers on player versus player combat. Players battle in enclosed arenas where positioning and quick decision-making are crucial. While competitive, the fantasy setting gives the mode a Dungeons and Dragons feel.

DnD Dungeon Deathrun

DnD Treasure RNG (Island Code 4958-2624-5634) leans into exploration and chance. Players search for randomized loot, creating a different experience each time they play. The island reflects the unpredictable nature of tabletop campaigns where rewards are never guaranteed.

For players who enjoy movement challenges, DnD Dungeon Deathrun (Island Code 5806-6430-0158) delivers a trap-filled obstacle course. Players must dodge hazards, time-jump carefully, and survive dangerous dungeon environments inspired by classic D&D adventures.

DnD Bossfight (Island Code 2218-1049-5866) focuses on cooperative gameplay. Players team up to take on powerful enemies modeled after iconic Dungeons and Dragons encounters. Teamwork and coordination are key to surviving battles, echoing the party-based combat found in tabletop games.

The most ambitious island in the lineup is DnD Zombie Dragon Adventure (Island Code 2525-9596-3235). Currently listed as early access, it is described as the largest cooperative roguelike experience ever built in Fortnite Creative. Players explore hostile areas, level up over time, and ultimately face a massive Dracolich-style boss inspired by Forgotten Realms lore.

Across all five islands, players will notice references to well-known Dungeons and Dragons locations and threats. Familiar elements inspired by places like the Yawning Portal and legendary dragons help ground the experience in established D&D lore while remaining accessible to Fortnite players who may be new to the franchise.

According to Wizards of the Coast, the collaboration is designed to support creator communities while introducing Dungeons and Dragons to a larger audience through Fortnite’s massive player base. For Fortnite, the crossover adds deeper fantasy storytelling and cooperative experiences to its Creative ecosystem.

Players can access all five islands now by entering the island codes in Fortnite’s Discover section, giving them a new way to explore the Forgotten Realms inside one of gaming’s biggest platforms.
