Battlefield

After years of waiting, Battlefield 6 has officially been revealed. EA and DICE Studios dropped a cinematic trailer that introduces players to a world on the brink of collapse. While the Battlefield series is best known for its large-scale multiplayer, this reveal puts the campaign front and center, and it’s anything but subtle.

The story follows a modern-day conflict between NATO forces and Pax Armata, a private military company with global reach and destructive goals. Pax Armata launches surprise attacks on NATO territories, including U.S. cities, a base in Georgia, and even NATO headquarters in Brussels. Their goal is to dismantle existing power structures and assert control, all under the banner “Our Protection, Your Peace.”

The trailer opens with a fictional U.S. president addressing the nation after a devastating attack. American landmarks become war zones, helicopters explode mid-air, and chaos reigns across multiple battlefronts. Within minutes, players are shown scorched cities, crumbling bridges, and firefights that rage across rooftops, highways, and even a flaming carousel.

EA promises a campaign that delivers intense storytelling, cinematic set pieces, and a return to the kind of destruction that defined earlier games like Battlefield 3 and 4. From toppling buildings to fully collapsing infrastructure, it’s clear that the game is leaning into scale and spectacle. DICE is putting more into destruction than just visuals. Early playtests have shown dynamic environments, new drag mechanics, better movement, and the ability to cling onto vehicles.

Multiplayer fans have reason to get excited, too. EA has announced that a full multiplayer reveal is coming on July 31. This will include gameplay footage, new maps, fan-favorite modes, and a closer look at how Battlefield 6 is evolving the series’ sandbox gameplay. Players can expect classic squad-based combat, aerial dogfights, tank battles, and the chaos of destructible cities in large-scale Conquest matches.

The game will release on Steam, Epic, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, leaving behind last-gen consoles. According to well-sourced leaks, the release date is set for October 10. The standard edition will cost $79.99, while the Phantom Edition will be available for $109.99. PC users may see a $10 discount. Unlike recent industry trends, there will be no early access, but the standard edition will be upgradable at any time for $29.99.

DICE has confirmed an open beta is on the way. Players will get the choice between class-locked signature weapons or open loadouts, a flexible new system being tested during the beta phase.

You can wishlist Battlefield 6 now, and tune in on July 31 for the full multiplayer reveal.
