Gamescom 2025: How to Watch and the Biggest Announcements Expected

Gamescom 2025 is Europe’s largest gaming convention. It is a major stage for new announcements, world premieres, and industry showcases. This year’s Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will once again serve as the kickoff show, giving fans across the globe a look at upcoming titles and new surprises.

Gamescom 2025 runs from August 19 to 24 in Cologne, Germany. For viewers in the United States, Opening Night Live begins on Tuesday, August 19 at 11 a.m. PT or 2 p.m. ET. A pre-show will start 30 minutes earlier. The event will be broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch, including the Game Awards channel.

The schedule for the week includes several other major presentations. The Future Games Show will be held on August 20 at 11 a.m. PT or 2 p.m. ET, streaming on Twitch, YouTube, and other platforms. Xbox will host its own Gamescom broadcast on August 20 and 21, beginning at 6 a.m. PT or 9 a.m. ET, with localized streams and accessibility features including American Sign Language. Bethesda follows with multi-day livestreams from August 22 to 25 that will feature developer interviews, gameplay demonstrations, and behind-the-scenes coverage. Other showcases, such as Awesome Indies on August 21 and the Best of Gamescom awards on August 24, round out the programming.

Opening Night Live is set to showcase several high-profile games. Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will be the centerpiece of the show with a new presentation. Other featured titles include Resident Evil Requiem, The Outer Worlds 2, Ghost of Yōtei, Ninja Gaiden 4, Lords of the Fallen 2, Silent Hill f, and World of Warcraft Midnight. The latter is receiving its full reveal at Gamescom with an opening cinematic, story details, new zones, and a first look at player housing, which will also be available in public demos at the event.

Xbox showcase

The Future Games Show will feature trailers and gameplay reveals from major studios such as Capcom, Bandai Namco, Nacon, and EA. Exclusive looks at Tormented Souls 2 and the Skate reboot are expected. Xbox is bringing demos of Hollow Knight Silksong, The Outer Worlds 2, and Overwatch 2, along with its new ROG Xbox Ally handheld. Nintendo is returning to Gamescom for the first time in years with playable demos of Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and Pokémon Legends Z A. Bandai Namco is presenting Little Nightmares 3 alongside The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Gamescom 2025 is expected to be the biggest edition yet, with more exhibitors than ever and participation from companies across the industry, including Netflix and Disney. With back-to-back showcases and blockbuster announcements, the week promises to deliver some of the most important gaming news of the year.
