Submission of this form signifies your agreement with the following statement: This form is for membership in The American Legion Department of California. Verification of military service is required. Payment of dues does not guarantee acceptance of membership. If receiving post does not accept your membership, your membership payment will be refunded. If this form is filled out by a recruiter, that recruiter certifies with their signature that they verified the prospective member's military documents prior to filling out this form. The prospective member will still have to show proof of military service if and when they transfer to another post and membership there will be subject to approval by that post's membership body as directed in their bylaws.
