American Legion Gaming will launch Mission Christmas: Solo to Squad on Giving Tuesday, December 2. The 24-hour streaming marathon supports disabled and isolated veterans during the holiday season by raising funds to provide gaming consoles for those who may otherwise spend December alone.

Mission Christmas is focused on getting consoles to veterans by Christmas morning. American Legion Gaming says the goal is to give veterans tools that help them reconnect with friends, family, and the communities around them while also restoring a sense of routine and interaction that many miss once the holidays begin.

Anyone who wants to help can watch on Twitch or YouTube, donate to help purchase consoles, or share the event across social platforms to expand its reach. The stream will also be available on Kick under americanlegiongaming. Supporters can join the community on Discord and donate through americanlegion.gg. Additional outreach is expected as more creators help promote the mission.

Streamers can participate by enabling Twitch Charity during their December 2 broadcasts. Top fundraisers will receive Steam gift cards in recognition of their support, adding an extra incentive for those who want to contribute throughout the day.

Many people look forward to time with family as the holidays get closer. For disabled or homebound veterans, the season can bring long, quiet days that often feel heavier than usual. Health challenges and limited mobility frequently lead to extended periods indoors, which can increase feelings of separation and create a difficult stretch of time.

Online games offer a place to talk and interact with others in a comfortable, familiar setting. Multiplayer environments create teamwork similar to what many service members experienced in uniform. For many veterans, gaming provides structure, focus, and a useful outlet during stressful periods, along with a steady source of social contact.

The 24-hour broadcast, Mission Christmas: Solo to Squad, also supports the American Legion’s Be the One initiative. The program works to reduce veteran suicide by strengthening personal connections and increasing access to support. Throughout the marathon, viewers will see live gameplay from veterans, service members, and established creators. The stream will feature discussions about gaming’s role in rehabilitation and mental wellness, along with real-time donation tracking that shows how many consoles are being secured during the event. The schedule allows supporters across time zones to join at any point and contribute whenever they are able.

As Giving Tuesday approaches, American Legion Gaming hopes the 24-hour streaming marathon strengthens connections and delivers comfort for veterans who face a difficult time of year, especially those who rely on digital communities to stay engaged and connected.
