During San Diego’s Fleet Week on Broadway Pier, American Legion Gaming (ALG) set up a video game lounge to give service members a space to unwind over Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day Weekend. The lounge was a welcome addition for Marines, sailors, and Coast Guard personnel stationed at the event, providing a break from their duties with a variety of games to choose from.

With the Navy’s USS Germantown and a Coast Guard ship docked nearby, the event drew a large crowd, and the gaming lounge quickly became a popular gathering point. Equipped with comfortable seating and Playstation consoles, the lounge offered something for everyone—from action-packed games to casual multiplayer options, bringing together military members from various branches for relaxation and friendly competition.

ALG’s video game lounge aimed to support the well-being of service members, aligning with its mission to connect and uplift military personnel. The setup was well-received and added an additional element of fun to the regular Fleet Week activities. It highlighted the growing role of gaming as a means of stress relief and community-building for veterans and active-duty personnel alike.

This activation not only provided enjoyment but also demonstrated ALG’s commitment to offering innovative support for service members. The success of the lounge signals the potential for similar installations at future events, where gaming can foster connection and relaxation for those in uniform.
