Helldivers 2 is preparing to welcome one of its most exciting collaborations yet with the arrival of the Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond. Launching on August 26, the same day the game debuts on Xbox Series X|S with crossplay, this crossover is Arrowhead’s first entry into the new “Legendary” tier of Warbonds. It brings with it Halo-inspired equipment, stealth-based mechanics, and a strong dose of nostalgia for longtime fans of Microsoft’s iconic sci-fi franchise.

At the heart of the Warbond is a collection of recreated Halo weapons. Players will be able to wield the MA5C Assault Rifle, M7S SMG, M90A Shotgun, and the M6C/SOCOM Pistol. The latter comes equipped with a suppressor, making it the first stealth-oriented weapon in Helldivers 2. This update lets fans of both franchises tackle missions with a mix of stealth and precision while still delivering the chaotic action Helldivers is known for.

Armor customization plays a major role in this crossover as well. Two Halo-styled armor sets are included: the A-9 Helljumper, built for heavy combat, and the A-35 Recon, designed with stealth in mind. Both carry the new Feet First passive ability, which provides quieter footsteps, immunity to leg injuries, and improved detection of points of interest. On top of the practical enhancements, cosmetic flair rounds out the package. Capes like Honored Heirloom and Eye of the Clandestine, ODST-themed player cards, and even a Rookie player title let fans take on the full Helljumper identity.

The Halo Warbond is priced at 1,500 Super Credits, roughly $15, and, unlike some previous collaborations, it will remain available permanently. It cannot be purchased with the Premium Warbond Token, but Arrowhead said that its goal this time was to avoid repeating past mistakes. The Killzone crossover drew criticism for its limited availability and cost, and creative director Johan Pilestedt has confirmed that the team made deliberate changes to ensure the Halo event is more accessible.

Arrowhead has also woven in a small Easter egg as a nod to Halo’s legacy. The SOCOM pistol carries the Korean word “자유,” meaning freedom, where Bungie traditionally etched the number seven in different languages on the same weapon. It is a playful way to honor Halo’s traditions while giving Helldivers fans something unique.

The timing of this crossover is also significant. By tying the Halo: ODST Warbond to the Xbox release, Sony and Microsoft have teamed up for one of the rare collaborations between the two platforms. With crossplay confirmed, players across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC will be able to experience the event together. For fans, it’s a celebration of Halo’s lasting impact and an exciting moment for Helldivers 2.
