Leak Suggests Six New Heroes Could Be Coming to Marvel Rivals

A new leak has surfaced around Marvel Rivals, pointing to six playable heroes that may arrive in future updates. The information, reportedly pulled from datamined game files, suggests the roster could soon expand with several characters from the X-Men and X-Force universe, along with one hero from a more niche Marvel series.

The leak claims that Professor X, Gambit, Elsa Bloodstone, Colossus, Locus, and Rogue are all in some stage of development. Several of these names had already been teased through earlier datamines, where placeholder aliases were used. Gambit was previously listed as “Jia Jing” while Elsa Bloodstone appeared under the codename “Paste Pot Pete.” The updated findings suggest that the studio may have dropped those placeholders in favor of their actual Marvel identities, making their arrival seem more likely.

Elsa Bloodstone

Elsa Bloodstone stands out as the most unusual addition. She comes from Marvel’s supernatural corner rather than the mutant-driven X-Men world. First introduced in the Bloodstone comics, she is a monster hunter who has remained a cult favorite despite not being a mainstream hero. Her name appearing alongside major characters such as Rogue and Colossus suggests that NetEase may be trying to mix household mutant names with niche heroes in order to broaden the roster’s appeal.

For X-Men fans, the leak reads like a dream lineup. Professor X, one of the most iconic leaders in Marvel comics, has long been requested by the community. Gambit, with his charged playing cards and Cajun flair, has also been a top fan demand. Colossus and Rogue represent core members of the mutant team, while Locus offers a deeper cut for those familiar with the X-Force branch of Marvel storytelling. If accurate, these choices would position Marvel Rivals firmly within mutant territory for its next slate of additions.

Xavier

Still, caution is warranted. While the datamines point to abilities and file references tied to these heroes, leaks do not guarantee release. Developers sometimes include placeholders that never make it into the final game, and there is speculation that NetEase has used decoy names in the past to throw off leakers. Even if all six characters are genuine, their arrival could be spread across future seasons rather than released at the same time.

If confirmed, these additions would demonstrate the developers’ interest in expanding beyond the usual Avengers lineup and giving mutants more prominence. That strategy could help Marvel Rivals stand out from other Marvel games while offering players a mix of fan favorites and unexpected picks. For now, the leaked roster remains unverified, but it has already sparked excitement and speculation across the community.
